Second purchase of these pruners. I bought a set from CostCo that included these pruners and I love them! Longer handles so more leverage for larger branches and/or easier cuts on small ones. Very accurate cuts and heavy duty jaws so you're never left with a piece of bark jammed between the blade and the anvil. Well worth the money to not have to clear jams or try to repair torn bark.Great product.I am a fairly petite woman & have pretty small hands. I am able to easily lock & unlock these scissors with one hand even while wearing my gardening gloves which is nice. Then I can easily slip them into my back pocket of my jeans until they are needed again. I've been using these to trim off very small dead tree branches, my rose bushes, raspberries & lots of other plants. They work almost effortlessly & do a great job at clean cuts.large handle , not so easy ergonomicallyA nice product - but NOT for smaller hands - go with the smaller ones! They just work! The first snip and the branches are cut. It doesn't matter what type of branch or leaf, it cuts off extremely clean. We love it.Very well made item. Only thing I think would improve this is to have all metal handles. If you let these sit out in the sun the plastic handles may dry out eventually. I use these to harvest peppers, zucchini, cucumbers, etc and they work well and get into tight spaces without being pointy and stabbing your other hand.Easy too use.I've bought this twice - on the first occasion, there was some tatty sellotape wrapped around it, several times. These are expensive secateurs, which I was giving as a birthday gift. I could not give them as a present in that state, so I returned them, ordering the same item as a replacement. When it arrived, the packaging was identical, wrapped several times around by the same grubby sellotape. I thought for a moment that I had been sent the same product again - unlikely I know, especially as I had only set the first ones back on the same day. At this point, it was the day before the aforesaid birthday, so had to take the sellotape off, in order to give the gift. I couldn't take it all off, as it would have ripped some of the writing on the back. It spoilt the birthday experience, to a degree. If the sellotape was there, to stop the cardboard base slipping out from beneath the plastic upper, why not use a couple of small bits of tape to hold it together? The blades are great, very precise with an excellent clean cut. I usually use Felco 6 secateurs but needed something lighter for deadheading and more precise pruning of soft green perennials. The 310s are the usual felco quality you would expect. When they are fully open they are quite wide for my hands (I would say I have medium hands for a woman). There's no way to reduce the span of them but as they are so light and the spring is quite soft it's not as much of an issue as (say) a heavier pair of pruners would be. They don't make my hands ache, they just take a bit of effort to get the right grip. The handles aren't the usual heavy duty ones found on felco pruners - they are plastic not coated metal - but this shaves off the weight and makes them very nimble. They do seem sturdy despite their light weight.Great buy.I bought these for me, when I am cutting flowers in the garden, and my wife to use when trimming the stems down for putting the flowers into a vase. These are NOT heavy duty secateurs, like the Felco Model 7, which I have for general pruning etc, so please don't think of them as that, although I do cut the fuchsias back with then but obviously not thick woody stems. They are lightweight and have just plastic handles as opposed the the silicone handles on the secateurs. They are still a good quality Felco product though and it also has an easy to operate 'blade lock' to make sure the jaws aren't open when not in use and they are very comfortable in use.If you use them for the work they are intended for you definitely won't be disappointed.I use these secateurs professionally for pruning trees and shrubs. This new pair was bought to replace the same pair bought about twenty years ago, which have been in regular use and still give superb service despite looking a bit weather- beaten!I think this speaks for itself; there are plenty of cheaper secateurs available but, in my experience, none better than Felco. They are bypass pruners, best suited to pruning live wood, and this model has one longer handle which gives one the option of using two hands to apply greater pressure when cutting thicker or harder wood. Spare parts are available too, although I've only needed to get the occasional replacement spring usually caused by my own neglect. They are beautifully designed, effective and comfortable for repeated use. The plastic covers on the handles of my old pair have worn and chipped, causing some discomfort during a long pruning session, so I felt that after twenty years of work they deserved a rest - hence the new pair!I must own at least twenty pairs of secateurs of various makes and quality, but Felco are always my first choice.I have used Felco products for many years now and have never had a problem until now, which leads me to question whether or not these secateurs are the real thing.I bought a pair of secateurs from Peter Schatten Floristen und Gartenbedarf in June 2020 and used them once to prune clematis in July 2020. When I went to use them this year, I found that the blades had rusted, despite being kept in a dry shed over winter. I contacted Felco and was told that this is not normal and that I should contact the seller (as they are responsible for replacements/refunds during the first 12 months). I contacted the seller a week ago but I'm still waiting for a reply. After reading some of the reviews, I notice the same thing has happened to other customers.Based on my disappointing experience, I would suggest you buy your Felco products elsewhere.
